How can a loss to the #9 ranked team drop you so far? Ohio State didn't fall that far and they lost to an unranked team. Why did Missouri fall all the way out of the BCS when it was #1 just 2 days ago?
SOOOO true! Missouri got screwed and the Fighting Mangino Chickens got lucky. Sorry KU fans, but I think they'll lose where Mizzou could have won another one for the Big 12.
They lost to Oklahoma....They should not have lost. I wanted Mizzou to win.Why did Missouri fall all the way out of the BCS when it was #1 just 2 days ago?
Cause they got "Rocked" and the BCS Machine went crazy on them
Only 2 teams from each conference get a bowl game. It actually helped Kansas losing to Missouri since they lost to them the week before Missouri's loss. Kansas maintained while Missouri fell this week (although still not below Kansas). Also, since Oklahoma beat Missouri, that puts Missouri behind Oklahoma. The Big 12 is competitive, so some teams will be left out.
Basically, it's easy to see how Oklahoma got there seeing as they just beat Missouri and are the highest Big 12 team in the rankings. That's one Big 12 team, so there is one spot left in a BCS Bowl Game. When it comes to Kansas and Missouri, you have to look at the overall record. Missouri has two losses and Kansas has 1. I don't think that gives Kansas any kind of an edge over Mizzou, since Missouri beat them. The bowl could have gone to either team, but in the end, a decision needed to be made. Everyone this year can complain about being left out of something. It sucks, but there is always next year. Why did Missouri fall all the way out of the BCS when it was #1 just 2 days ago?
they fell out?! that's crazy. it's also crazy that a number 9 team can jump to number 4 and make the former #4 drop to 5 when they didn't even play. Georgia should e playing OSU for the national title. LSU had their chance. They shouldn't have lost to Kentucky or Arkansas. Well, even if they had lost to Kentucky only they might still deserve it. but they lost to Arkansas too! Missouri should be like 15 now.
They dropped 5 spots from #1 to #6. That is about what happened to everybody else.
BTW...
OSU dropped from #1 to #7 in week 12
LSU dropped from #1 to #7 in week 14
Also to ufwalk... OU got into the BCS by being the Big 12 Champ which is an automatic bid. Since only one other team can go from Big 12.. who do you take. 2 loss Mizzou who is Big 12 North champ and beat KU or 1 loss KU? Personally, I take Mizzou.
"2. The champions of the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-10, and Southeastern conferences will have automatic berths in one of the participating bowls after the 2006 and 2007 regular seasons."

Ed note to WTfever... I agree about Mizzou. They got hosed.
Because the BCS is a mindless joke and an abject failure.
they did not dop out of the bcs, they are still ranked 6th. everyone else dropped that far when they lost.
They should not have fallen that far. It's because of shortsidedness on the part of the voters and commitee. Plus, Missouri is not in the vaunted SEC.
