Love is a strong thing, even in the Sims. You're going to have to use traditional sim methods of getting them to break up, however. Simply do things we will not appreciate, such as arguing, irritating, flirting when he won't accept the flirt type you choose, etc. But most likely, if you aren't planning on actually playing as this character (or can't) then it will most likely not impact his relationship, and his wife may not actually exist as a visual NPC.
